Questions?

Flash Photography Workshop FAQ

No. AFS has studio strobes, triggers, and modifiers for everyone. If you own a speedlight and want to learn to use it better, bring it along — we cover on-camera flash too.
We cover both, but the focus is on studio flash. On-camera flash is useful for events and run-and-gun situations, but studio flash gives you the most control and produces the most professional results.
Not at all. This is an intro workshop. We start from scratch — what flash is, how it works, and build up to multi-light studio setups by the end of the day.
Softboxes, umbrellas, beauty dishes, grids, and reflectors. You'll learn what each one does to the quality and direction of light, and when to choose each one.
Absolutely. We'll show you affordable gear options at every level. You can start with a single speedlight and a cheap modifier and still get professional results.
Around 20 students max. Small enough that everyone gets hands-on time with the equipment and individual feedback from the instructor.
